Yinka Oladele is a trailblazing entrepreneur who has left an indelible mark on the Canadian business landscape. Moved to Canada in 2000 with her family, worked as a dishwasher, and at different companies. In 2007, she became the first African woman to join the esteemed UPS Store franchise network in Canada, Yinka's entrepreneurial journey has not only broken barriers but also paved the way for others. She is a passionate advocate for startups and established entrepreneurs, dedicating her time and expertise to mentorship. Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Yinka has been honoured with numerous business and community awards within African Business communities, including Diversity Magazine. Her commitment to excellence was further acknowledged when she received the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Medal Award in 2023, and Lifetime Achievement Award by Calgary Black Chamber in 2024. Yinka's inspirational story has been featured in various media outlets, including magazines, television, digital platforms, on the Gulf of Islands where she shared her experiences in the "Caregiver in the Wild – the Nature Stigma." With a profound educational background, Yinka holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and Master of Counselling Psychology (MACP). Her relentless pursuit of knowledge and expertise in psychology underscores her dedication to addressing mental health and psychological challenges faced by cancer patients, caregivers, and families. Beyond her entrepreneurial pursuits, Yinka is a co-founder of several impactful non-profit organizations and sits on several boards. She serves as the Chair of the Calgary African Community Collective (CACC), co-founder of the Calgary Pastors Forum, and the pioneer and co-founder of Women of Vision Society of Alberta. Notably, she is the co-founder and the Executive Director of The Oladele Foundation, also known as the African Cancer Support Group, an organization that offers unwavering support to cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers within the Black Community. With her passion to destigmatize cancer in the community, she advocates for equity in the support services for people of African origin going through cancer. Yinka Oladele's passion for community service knows no bounds. She is a tireless volunteer who generously shares her time. Her unwavering commitment has made her a beloved figure in African and Nigerian communities, where she is recognized for her willingness to serve, advise, and uplift others. Yinka actively contributes to various committees and boards, including the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre. She wears multiple hats as a dynamic speaker, an advocate, a dedicated teacher, an entrepreneur, a compassionate mentor, and an empowering coach.
